We are hiring in the Equipment Engineering and Services department within the Recording Heads Operations at Seagate Technology, Inc. in Bloomington, MN. We are looking for an Technician in General Shift (8 hours per day M-F) in Life Safety and Fire Protection. We are a team oriented organization with a priority to enhance technician skills at all levels in the department.

      About the role - you will:

      • Maintain and develop Fire Protection designs for Facilities such as fire suppression systems, fire alarm and detection systems, and alternate extinguishing system in compliance with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards.
      • Maintain and develop Life Safety design for Facilities
      • Develop Fire protection and Life Safety related drawings using CAD software
      • Lead and or support projects dedicated to Fire and Life Safety Area of expertise.
      • Able to work safely on equipment that requires use of PPE, with chemicals or gases
      • Establishes and maintains preventive maintenance programs and procedures
      • Administers training programs to ensure: Proper equipment operation, preventive maintenance, repair programs and procedures
      • Works on assignments requiring considerable judgment and initiative. Understands implications of work and makes recommendations for solutions
      • Determine methods and procedures on new assignments]
      • May provide guidance to other non-exempt personnel. As a skilled specialist, completes tasks in creative and effective ways
      • May work Nights and weekends

      Your experience includes:

      • Associate degree in a closely related field
      • NFPA, ICC certifications or other specialized credentials related to field of Fire & Life Safety
      • Experience with MS Office
      • Preferred Software and Hardware experience
      • Related experience in the field, post-secondary education is preferred /relevant military experience
