Job Description

- Carry out regular walks around the residence and grounds, reporting any security/safety issues
- Monitor and control health, safety and maintenance standards within residence and grounds
- Respond effectively to fire alarm activations and liaise with the emergency services
- Monitor the signing in and out of all guests, visitors and contractors
- Complete help desk forms for reactive maintenance and pass to the relevant persons
- Deal with queries and complaints in an efficient, professional and courteous manner
- Complete all necessary reports including incident, noise and accident reports
- Monitor the conduct of students, encouraging reasonable and fair behaviour, reporting any breach of the Code of Conduct and license agreement when required
- Liaise with other Facilities officers, university clients, sub-contractors, staff and residents

This is a permanent, full-time position working an average 41 hours per week on a rota basis covering 5pm to 12am and/or 12am to 8am Monday to Friday, and 8pm to 8am at weekends. The salary is £27893.95 per annum.
This is a customer centred role that provides a range support to the management team and assists with the provision of a suitably equipped and secure environment for residents to live and to study. This varied role involves looking after Reception to ensuring student safety and wellbeing across the university campus.
Role responsibilities include:
We are looking for you to have worked in a similar role and environment and have great communication and organisation skills, able to effectively deal with any situation that arises including ones involving students. You will have an understanding of site security and safety plus experience of operating a Reception desk.
To be successful in this role you will have a professional and approachable manner with a passion to do a great job.
You will also be flexible to work (with notice) additional hours when the needed, especially during the main student arrival and departure weekends each year.
