Overview

Gordon-Conwell is a multidenominational, protestant graduate school, unique with its broad array of over 1,300 students and 200 faculty and staff from 78 denominations and over 50 countries. We offer a residential model of education at South Hamilton, MA (our main campus); an urban context in Boston, MA; adult educational models in both our Charlotte, NC campus and our offerings in Jacksonville, FL; in addition to online and cohort models involving students from around the world.

Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Director of Physical Plant, performs a wide range of routine maintenance and preventive maintenance tasks. The hours of this position are evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Key Responsibilities

1. Performs observations on buildings, boilers, pumps, and miscellaneous mechanical items.
2. Performs checks on routine and requested inspections of buildings, identifies problems, and performs minor repairs.
3. Opens and secures exterior doors to buildings when assigned, or for events taking place.
4. Checks Event Manager System and Maintenance Direct during shift.
5. Attempts to fix issues found on shift. i.e. clogged toilets, leaks, boiler resets.
6. If need be, follow on-call procedures, and calls and reports to on-call employees any emergency situations which arise during the shift or issues which cannot be resolved alone.
7. Maintains log of all activities performed during shift, including WWTP levels, and logs in boiler rooms.
8. Interacts with residents and responds to calls for assistance for campus residents. i.e. maintenance issues, lockouts, emergency calls.
9. Assists with salting campus as needed or snow removal.
10. Performs other duties as assigned by Facilities Director or designee.
11. Has the ability to lift 30 pounds and stand on your feet for an extended period of time.
