      Facility Manager

      Epiroc Customer Center has an opening for a Facilities Manager based in Mississauga Ontario. This is a great opportunity to join a growing organization with fantastic people!

      The Facilities Manager's mission is to ensure all Canadian facilities are well maintained, exude the Epiroc experience of high standards, and are compliant with all applicable laws. The role reports directly to the National SHEQ Manager. This is a new role to Epiroc Customer Center so we are looking for a self-starter who requires little to no direction who is able to establish processes and procedures based on best practices as previously experienced throughout their career.

      RESPONSIBILITIES:

      • Ensure building compliance with applicable legislation (building code, etc).
      • Coordinating repairs and monitoring performance
      • Tracking spare parts inventory and placing orders for facility maintenance
      • Supervising Maintenance Technicians (if applicable)
      • Handling or contracting landscaping and snow removal tasks
      • Maintaining a critical spare parts inventory for key building equipment
      • Ensuring or conducting preventative maintenance audits
      • Coordinating with the Business Controller or GM on new building projects
      • Assisting in training employees on proper procedures as appropriate
      • Ensuring compliance with safety and security protocols
      • Monthly building inspections and performing scheduled maintenance
      • Support monthly fire suppression audits (by 3rd Party)
      • Ensure security system is adequate and operational at all times
      • Ensure maintenance of sub-contracts such as coffee, water, cleaning, pest control etc. (can be delegated to Office Administrator)
      • Coordinate and liaison with building landlord (Orlando)
      • Collaborate with Purchasing for contract negotiations for all service providers, in all facilities, to ensure volume savings
      • Key contact for general repairs
      • Participation in the JHSC, as necessary
      • Responsible for all project oversite involving the facility (in collaboration with the proper process owners)
      • Provide facilities management support to our other leased facilities across Canada, as needed
      • Support a facility audit program, in collaboration with the applicable process owner, including SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality) Team
      • Willingness to travel across Canada

      • Verify with vendors monthly emergency equipment inspections are completed (Fire extinguishers, Eye wash station, Emergency Lighting, First Aid equipment, Spill Kits)
      • Annually test emergency lighting and verify battery run times (set this appointment up with vendor update TIA and verify completion)
      • Annual security system test complete (verify vendor has completed and update TIA with documents)
      • Participate as a fire warden/incident commander for the Site Emergency Response Plan
      • Follow up with JHSC members after meeting to verify if there are any facility deficiencies that require action

      SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

      • Pro-active approach to improve energy efficiencies as part of Epiroc's sustainability targets
      • Knowledge of basic accounting and finance principles
      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
      • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
      • Proven experience as facilities manager or relevant position
      • Well-versed in facilities management best practices
      • Good overall understanding of the facilities needs and equipment, such as: Plumbing, Electrical, HVAC, Structures, Sprinklers, fire suppression, Security systems, etc.
      • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in Building Maintenance or Facility management, or equivalent
