What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Provide support, encouragement, and education to families navigating behavioral health, social, legal, educational, and healthcare systems
- Advocate on behalf of families with key stakeholders to ensure their needs are met
- Facilitate educational workshops on behavioral health topics for families and caregivers
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with behavioral health and child-serving agencies
- Maintain accurate documentation regarding the delivery of services
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Personal lived experience as a family member, primary caregiver, or ally of an individual with a behavioral health challenge
- Specific lived experience in the program focus area (e.g., substance use, mental health, problem gambling)
- Must reside in Calvert County
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college or professional experience preferred
- Strong written and oral communication skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Prior experience assisting families in obtaining appropriate services and supports
- Familiarity and comfort with public speaking and community outreach
- Strong computer skills and ability to efficiently utilize internet resources
- Willingness to learn how to use a database (Salesforce)
