      Job Description:

The Department of Economic Development (DED) assists businesses and community development organizations and is currently searching for a Federal Aid Administrator III. This position reports to the Budget Officer III and is responsible for coordinating allocations of federal funds available to local units of government, ensuring efficiency and compliance with federal laws and regulations in use of those funds; overseeing maintenance of grants and participating in the agency process of distributing payments for all funds.

      Job Duties: Reviews vouchers, billings, grant applications and/or awards, and aid contracts for distribution. Prepares various monthly and annual reports evaluating agency expenditures and monitoring of financial activities. Monitors progress of various grant applications and agreements to ensure deadlines are met. Processes payments, verifies receipts of federal funds, and confirms that all supporting documentation is included in payment requests. Reviews records for reconciliation of Enterprise One and other federal systems. Other duties as assigned within the scope of the classification.

      Requirements / Qualifications

      Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in grants management, business administration, public administration, accounting, budgeting, OR related fiscal field, and four years experience in grant management, contract administration, accounting, budgeting, OR other fiscal related areas of work. Additional years of experience in the area listed may substitute for the required education, on a year-for-year basis.

      Preferred Qualifications: Experience in the accounting system, Enterprise One, vast knowledge of excel, and compliance with State and Federal laws pertaining to Federal aid.

      Other: Regular and Reliable attendance is required.


      Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Working knowledge of Word, Outlook, and willingness to learn other computerized systems. Knowledge of Federal and State laws and regulations, accounting policies, grant contracts and agreements, and/or budgets. Best candidates will have the ability to analyze financial data and program details and follow complex technical procedures as well as having excellent communication skills to work with internal and external customers.
