Job Description

- High School Diploma or equivalency with 2 years or more experience in a technical support role.
- Customer Service Experience working in an Fiber Optic/Telecommunications Environment preferred. You must be able to represent MidSouth in a professional manner by providing exceptional customer service. You must educate customers on offered services and managed devices.
- Technical Skills: You must be able to provide network support for internet, phone, and video services. This includes the ability to thoroughly explain our services and products in a professional and effective manner via phone. You will be responsible for reviewing and testing recent software upgrades prior to customer rollout. Also, you will assist with operation, maintenance, and emergency response for network outages.
- Attention to Details : You must be able to document interactions with end users and recommends improvements. You must demonstrate a high level of accuracy and attention to detail to prevent incorrect information. This includes responsibly managing sensitive member information, as well as internal cooperative information.
- Excellent Interpersonal Skills : You must effectively work with the external technical support team and network team to improve service stability and customer satisfaction. You must effectively communicate with members as well as all departments of the coop. You must have the ability to work in a team oriented environment, as well as independently. This also includes maintaining professionalism, patience, and composure when faced with a stressful situation.
- Time Management Skills: You must have the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work in a high energy, fast paced environment with quickly changing priorities and situations. This includes the ability to effectively listen to our members to identify issues using positive customer service language, while simultaneously completing your day to day responsibilities.
- Valid Texas Class C Driver's License : You must maintain a good driving record measured by MidSouth's criteria.
As a Fiber Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our members by answering questions or troubleshooting requests to ensure customer satisfaction. In this role, you will be an expert at assisting members in a prompt, courteous, and efficient manner, while professionally representing MidSouth Electric Co-op.
