Identify engineering issues impacting warranty, durability, customer satisfaction, safety, or regulatory compliance by analyzing various data sources and monitoring trends from the field.
Establish priority and action plans for incident investigations.
Investigate incidents via warranty claim analysis, customer survey analysis, part collection and testing, or vehicle-level investigations.
Communicate product issues to management and responsible group(s) for countermeasure development.
Track countermeasure implementation and report progress.
Coordinate efficient investigation of multi-system, complex incidents by analyzing available data, establishing survey plans, collecting dealer information, and collecting and testing incident parts for preparation of Technical Reports.
Prepare professional level analysis summaries that can be used for cross-functional management and/or Executive team report outs.
Provide peer leadership, coaching and/or guidance to contribute towards continuous staff development of colleagues and the organization in general.
Assist with the preparation of Technical Service Bulletins for dealers and provide technical assistance to field staff as required.
Representation of the Voice of the Customer when dealing with stakeholders.
Participating in Gemba activities to enhance issue understanding as appropriate via Dealer visits, plant reviews and supplier process audits.
NOTE: this role requires travel up to 25% of the time for the purposes of reviewing vehicles in market settings and coordination with external stakeholders.
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline required. BSME preferred.
A minimum of 7 years related professional experience with a broad knowledge of automotive systems and/or manufacturing processes.
Broad familiarity with general troubleshooting principles.
Ability to analyze complex technical problems. Formal problem-solving training is preferred.
Strong project management skills, with an emphasis on effective communication and presentation abilities to drive value creation.
Advanced knowledge of spreadsheet data analysis (graphs, pivot tables, etc.), presentation, word processing, and other applications.
Continuous learning mindset and the aptitude to quickly adapt to the needs arising from rapidly evolving technologies and market conditions.

We are currently looking for an Engineer to join our Field Quality Investigations (FQI) Team in Smyrna, TN .
Job Summary
The FQI Team is responsible for identifying, investigating, analyzing, and reporting field issues related to the overall customer experience with our vehicles. The Engineer’s core responsibilities will be to monitor field data sources, establish action plans for incident investigations, analyze the information collected, assign the issue to the appropriate group(s) for resolution, and track corrective action activities to drive quality improvement. This is accomplished by means of both hands-on vehicle level evaluations and data mining from multiple channels for market trends and tendencies to assist with prioritization in improving the Customer’s experience with our products.
