      The Position

      Field Reimbursement Managers (FRMs) are field-based personnel who provide limited support to HCPs and their staff to help facilitate appropriate patient access to prescribed NNI Therapies. The role of the FRM is to create awareness with HCPs and their staff about the NordiCare patient support program and to respond appropriately to HCPs and their staff about questions regarding coverage, reimbursement and patient access issues for NNI Therapies.

      The FRM is responsible for field-based account planning and performing patient access initiatives as directed by FRM management and in accordance with all applicable Novo Nordisk Inc. (NNI) policies and procedures.

      The FRM will be an expert in local, state and regional payer policies for NNI Therapies and will educate HCP offices regarding such policies.

      Relationships

      Reporting to the Director, Patient Support-Field Reimbursement, the FRM will implement patient access initiatives at the physician practice level in order to facilitate appropriate patient access to NNI Therapies.

      The FRM may collaborate appropriately with other NNI field-based personnel, such as Rare Endocrine Therapy Managers and Market Access Account Executives, to facilitate appropriate patient access. This may include sharing high-level updates on product; coverage and reimbursement trends/payer policies and requirements, but FRMs may not discuss any specific patient case or office issues with any such NNI personnel.

      The successful candidate will build and maintain positive and appropriate relationships with internal NNI colleagues and HCP offices in order to facilitate access.

      Essential Functions

      • Facilitate appropriate reimbursement and support HCP processes for timely patient care and access
      • Reads, monitors and analyzes data to identify patient access requirements, potential payer trends. and specialty pharmacy performance issues and positively communicates knowledge to appropriate NNI personnel and takes appropriate action to facilitate access as needed
      • Provide high-level updates and education on payer coverage policies to HCPs and their office staff and internal NNI personnel
      • Work closely with NordiCare to facilitate complete, accurate and timely benefits investigation and provide prior authorization and appeals support, as requested
      • Share best practices with FRM colleagues
      • Demonstrate outstanding communication and account management skills and knowledge of NNI Products and NordiCare
      • Be familiar with long and short-range changes in the coverage and reimbursement policies under Medicare, Medicaid, commercial payers and plans that may impact Norditropin
      • Manage their own budget
      • Manage other projects as directed

      Physical Requirements

      75-90% overnight travel required.

      Qualifications

      • Education:
        • Bachelors degree in science or business is required; preferably in a science or business discipline
      • Experience:
        • 5+ years of relevant pharmaceutical sales or reimbursement experience, with at least 3+ years biologics sales experience, pharmacy benefit reimbursement experience or specialty sales experience
        • Experience in implementing biologics patient access initiatives (i.e., hub programs) OR 5+ years of healthcare related reimbursement with specialty pharmacy or HCP related access support.
      • Specific skills include:
        • Successful track record in field reimbursement support, medical affairs, or sales of biologics that required understanding of product coverage and reimbursement considerations under both a medical and a pharmacy benefit platform
        • Significant experience with understanding and interpreting government and commercial payer policies
        • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, along with complex problem solving, cross-functional project management skills and organizational skills
        • Must be able to demonstrate an outstanding work ethic, relationship management skills and have the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently
        • Demonstrated excellence in account planning and management
        • Experience in budget management
        • Must have a strong ability to work independently and cross functionally with other Novo Nordisk personnel
