      Position Summary

      Faculty is looking for an undergraduate student to assist with a summer field research effort in summer 2025. The project explores how carbon is stored and released in the Rio Grande floodplain. The field work will be conducted at sites in the Bosque within a 1 hr drive from Albuquerque.

      • Assist with gas sampling at local field sites along the Rio Grande
      • Work closely with a graduate student on a thesis project focused on carbon dynamics
      • Learn methods in biogeochemistry, soil science, and environmental science.
      • No prior field experience required—we’ll train you!
      Work period: Summer 2025 (as soon as May 1 to August 15)
      Minimum Qualifications

      Enrolled in a degree seeking program at UNM, Enrolled at least half-time (6 hours) at UNM for fall and spring semesters (Audit hours do not count), and if Work Study, you must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress.

      Preferred Qualifications
