- Block Imaging Field Service Engineer Apprenticeship offers applicants an opportunity to launch into a fulfilling/meaningful career serving hospitals so that healthcare providers can serve their patients.
- Apprentices will spend approximately four months working/learning/training at Block Imaging’s headquarters in Holt, Michigan.
- Out-of-state candidates will receive a housing allowance to help cover short-term accommodations until they return home. Local candidates who reside within a 75-mile radius of Holt, MI may also qualify for a housing allowance.
- The primary focus of the program is to provide training in electronics, computer networking, x-ray theory, hands on x-ray equipment training, and supervised work in the field with experienced engineers. Other modalities will not be the focus of the program at this time
- Service medical imaging equipment in various locations as needed.
- To assure that imaging systems are fully calibrated and functioning to OEM performance levels.
- To assure the needs of customers are being met and the system is operating based upon their needs.
- To move the company forward in engineering competency.
- To represent the company in a manner that shows the user, confidence, knowledge, and courtesy.
- Evaluate the equipment, trouble shoot and complete PMs, installations and all related tasks to independently diagnose and resolve electronic, mechanical, and network problems on medical equipment.
- Calibrate and troubleshoot for computer systems on the equipment according to OEM specifications.
- Continual expansion of knowledge base in the repair and installation of equipment.
- Provide advanced-level diagnosis and repair of imaging systems.
- Support management through project feedback and communication of issues and opportunities.
- Be available to handle technical issues and questions.
- Document processes created and educate end users.
- Provide feedback to the office from on-site locations and provide a positive presentation of the company to the individuals on-site.
- This position will involve up to 50 percent travel; flexibility to travel when needed is required.

- Review of the database for current and accurate data.
- Assess the technical knowledge and ability to maintain and install equipment.

- Education: An Associate’s Degree in a technical area, i.e. electronics, mechanics, computer technology, or military equivalent.
- Experience: At least one year of hands-on mechanical/electrical experience.
- Evidence of a mechanical aptitude established by a combination of some Work Experience; and/or education.

- Submit to and pass a medical exam required under Department of Transportation (DOT) Regulations and a written examination if asked to operate rental trucks or fleet vehicles
- Drivers must comply with on-the-job driver’s safety training if asked to operate rental trucks or fleet vehicles
- Must be 21 or older to drive company vehicle.
