Job Description

- GCSE Mathematics and English at C level or equivalent
- Qualifications required in Electronics / Mechatronics: Time served apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, B Tech Level 3 (or equivalent) or 4-year apprenticeship.
- HNC/HND/Degree Level qualification in electronics
- The main requirement is for an electronics qualification - knowledge of physics and having mechanical skills will be an advantage
- We would consider applicants with A Level Physics, Science and Mathematics in conjunction with at least 3 years’ experience in an electronic or electromechanical systems test environment.
- Experienced user of MS Windows operating system
- Working in an electromechanical test environment
- Able to understand and follow test specifications and standard operating procedures
- Experience of fault-finding on electronic or electromechanical systems.
- Proven ability to utilise user interface software to test, calibrate and operate complex electromechanical systems (we use a bespoke system) Beneficial
- An understanding of and experience of working with high vacuum systems.
- A background working in aerospace systems testing, electronic production test, systems testing in the MOD, working as a service engineer maintaining and repairing medical equipment systems.
- Experience of assembling and / or testing of precision instrumentation
- Undergoing training as required by the business, either on site or elsewhere and providing training to others in areas where full skill level has been reached; actively working towards obtaining and maintaining a full skill set in Test
- Undertake assembly, sub-assembly and testing of finally configured systems and accessories consistent with the test area, to the final test procedure within flow line.
- Trouble- shoot malfunctions and carrying out basic modifications as required
- Undertake testing to the vacuum specification.
- Responsible for the maintenance of test equipment under his/her care.
- Participate in Lean activities as required.
- Actively contribute to driving continuous improvement and identifying waste in the test processes
- Maintain processes and procedures consistent with ISO standards.
- Perform other duties that may be required from time to time.
- Comply with Company procedures and controls (ISO 9001 and ISO 14001) as defined.
Principal Purpose
Testing of Scanning Electron Microscopes in accordance with established procedures and work to ensure that agreed deadlines and manufacturing targets are met.
