      Starting Salary is $63,500 – $116,300 annually. Because work-life-balance is a priority at State Farm, compensation is based on our standard 38:45-hour work week. Salary offered is dependent on skills and qualifications, with the high end of the range limited to applicants with significant relevant experience.

      Potential yearly incentive pay/bonus: up to 15% of base salary, based on individual and company performance.

      HYBRID: Qualified candidates (in or near hub locations) including Bloomington, Illinois; Dunwoody, Georgia; Richardson, Texas; or Tempe, Arizona should plan to spend time working from home and some time working in the office (about 1 day per week in the office) as part of our hybrid work environment.

      Responsibilities

      The Strategic Reporting team has primary responsibility for the financial forecasts, board meeting exhibits, financial results communications and enterprise stress testing.

      The Financial Statements Teams prepare and analyze periodic financial statements to meet regulatory requirements and inform leadership decision making. The Property & Casualty team reports on our Auto and Fire products. The Non-Property & Casualty Statement Team reports on our Life products, investment management services and other strategic partnerships.

      As a Finance Analyst within Financial Operations, you’ll be uniquely positioned with exciting opportunities to directly influence and enable enterprise leadership decision making through relevant and actionable financial analysis and reporting. You’ll be a trusted advisor and strategic thought partner to Executive leadership, collaborating broadly with others across State Farm to enable execution of key enterprise priorities. You will enable the mission of State Farm, informing how we can help more customers in more ways.

      As a Finance Analyst on these teams, your key responsibilities could include (but are not limited to):

      • Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and reports for Property & Casualty, Life, Investment Management/Brokerage and other affiliates.
      • Researching accounting guidance and appropriately applying to our financial reporting.
      • Maintaining proper operation of internal controls.
      • Supporting executive decision making through financial forecasting, financial trend analysis, stress testing, board reporting, and communication of monthly and quarterly financial results.
      • Providing knowledge, insight, and enterprise perspective via financial analysis that facilitates operational and strategic decision making.
      • Collaborating across Financial Operations and the Enterprise to develop ad hoc and routine analysis to enable informed decision-making This includes analysis of results, proactive identification of trends, and impact analysis on changes affecting trends.
      • Serving as a strategic thought partner for leadership and business areas and offering insights on Enterprise financial and growth results.
      • Preparing accurate financial analysis in a timely manner. Communicating complex subject matter to the intended audience in a simplified manner that meaningfully informs decisions.
      • Representing Financial Operations on projects and initiatives across the Enterprise.

      Qualifications

      Candidates applying for this position should have the following skills and qualifications:

      • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting or Finance
      • Understanding of core accounting principles and financial statements
      • Broad business and financial acumen
      • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
      • Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to work with all levels of leadership
      • Learning agility and adaptability to work across multiple teams
      • A high degree of internal motivation and initiative
      • Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities to meet deadlines
      • Ability to lead and/or represent Financial Operations on projects and initiatives
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including utilization of advanced formulas and report automation technique
      • CPA designation preferred
      • Insurance and/or financial services experience preferred
