- Lead the development and management of the bank’s long-term and short-term financial plans to align with corporate objectives.
- Provide strategic recommendations to executive leadership to support organizational growth, cost management, and investment strategies.
- Integrate market trends, regulatory changes, and economic forecasts into financial plans.
- Develop and maintain rolling forecasts to ensure up-to-date projections based on real-time financial performance and evolving market conditions.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to adjust forecasts dynamically, incorporating updated business priorities and external factors.
- Drive continuous improvement of forecasting methodologies, leveraging technology and advanced analytics tools.
- Perform variance analysis by comparing actual performance against budget, forecast, and prior periods.
- Deliver comprehensive financial reports and presentations to executive leadership, board members, and other stakeholders.
- Identify risks and opportunities across business lines, recommending corrective measures to improve financial outcomes.
- Build and maintain complex financial models to simulate multiple scenarios, evaluate potential outcomes, and assess risk exposure.
- Utilize scenario analysis to prepare contingency plans and guide decision-making in uncertain environments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (business units, operations, risk, and compliance) to drive financial accountability and operational efficiency.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership by translating financial data into actionable strategies.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities by analyzing expense drivers and benchmarking against industry standards.
- Partner with business leaders to implement process improvements and streamline operations to enhance profitability.
- Provide financial and strategic analysis to evaluate potential M&A opportunities, including due diligence, synergy assessment, and valuation modeling.
- Support integration planning for acquired entities to ensure alignment with the bank’s financial goals and operational framework.
- Collaborate with external advisors and internal stakeholders to manage transaction risks and opportunities effectively.
- Monitor global macroeconomic trends, geopolitical developments, and banking sector regulations to assess their financial implications.
- Ensure compliance with international reporting standards (e.g., IFRS, Basel III) and prepare necessary disclosures.
- Leverage advanced data analytics tools, such as Power BI, Tableau, and predictive analytics, to enhance reporting and forecasting accuracy.
- Support the adoption of digital FP&A solutions to improve financial processes and data visualization.
- Supervise and mentor junior finance team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.
- Lead cross-functional projects and ensure timely delivery of high-quality outputs.
- Proficiency in financial planning, forecasting, and M&A evaluation techniques.
- Advanced skills in interpreting financial data, identifying trends, and solving complex problems.
- Ability to present insights clearly and influence decisions at all levels of the organization.
- Expertise in Excel, financial modeling, and FP&A tools (e.g., SAP, Hyperion, Power BI, Tableau).
- Strong understanding of transaction structuring, due diligence, and post-merger integration processes.
- High level of accuracy in financial reporting and data interpretation.
- Ability to align financial goals with broader organizational objectives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- MBA in Finance or professional certifications (CA(SA) or CFA) is highly desirable.
- 5–10 years of experience in FP&A or related financial roles within the banking or financial services sector.
- Proven experience in rolling forecasts and scenario planning
- Track record of collaborating with senior leadership in a matrixed environment.
