Job Description

- Oversee day-to-day activities of the EMEA Financial Accounts Team, directly reporting to the Senior Finance Director and working closely with the Corporate Accounting team in the US.
- Responsibility for the month end close process, including twelve legal entities across multiple countries.
- Detailed review of entity Profit & Loss and Balance Sheets, plus review of Balance Sheet reconciliations.
- Lead and coach direct reports, plus others in the Financial Accounts team.
- Key person to answers queries from Accounts team & FP&A.
- Liaise with local accountants in all EMEA subsidiaries to support statutory requirements including relevant tax filings, statutory accounts, and VAT returns.
- Lead year end and interim EMEA group audit in support of the US audit with external auditors.
- Responsible for SOX controls for all in scope EMEA entities. Liaising with the US Corporate Accounting team.
- Lead and manage other ad-hoc and project-based work as required.
- Approval of AP invoices related to finance and payroll expenses within position threshold per DOA.
- Professional UK accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/ICAS).
- Minimum post qualification experience of 3 years.
- Previous management and coaching experience.
- Good knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS and US GAAP.
- Experience with VAT compliance and reporting.
- Experience using multiple ERP systems. Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 would be beneficial.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Strong leadership & mentoring skills.
- Strong IT skills, including significant experience with Microsoft Excel.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Aptitude for managing workload and performing a wide variety of tasks.

An exciting permanent opportunity (initial maternity cover) has arisen for an experienced finance professional to work at Bio-Techne, a high-growth biotechnology business with large global presence. The Financial Accounting Manager is a key position in Bio-Techne’s Finance function for the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region and reports directly to the EMEA Senior Finance Director, commencing as soon as possible. This is a hybrid role on site in our Abingdon office a minimum of three days per week.
We are looking for a qualified accountant with experience in managing month/quarter/year end closes, external audit, VAT returns and statutory audits in various countries/entities and ownership of the Balance Sheet. The successful candidate will have a strong accounting background, attention to detail and will be comfortable leading and coaching a small team of accountants within the EMEA Financial Accounts team. The Financial Accounting Manager will receive support from the Senior Finance Director and other senior management to further develop their skills and enable a successful career with Bio-Techne. This is a high-profile role with exposure to the Bio-Techne Corporate Controllership team based in the US.
