Manage and provide guidance for financial accounting of regulatory revenue
Investigate and provide meaningful variance analysis to understand the impacts of regulatory decisions
Provide financial advice and detailed analysis by interpreting policies and processes related to fixed assets accounting and implications to regulatory filings
Analyze new and revised accounting standards and quantify the impact to financial results
Lead continuous improvement efforts to improve service to business partners
Report on compliance of financial and regulatory processes
Liaise with the external auditors to facilitate efficient completion of engagements
Contribute to a culture of compliance and maintain awareness and effectiveness of internal controls
Develop and provide detailed analysis of financial plans and budgets
Develop, enhance, and monitor financial models for business analysis and planning
A Bachelor of Commerce or equivalent with a specialization in Accounting/Finance is required
Professional CPA designation is a requirement for this role
8 years progressive financial analysis and accounting experience
Must demonstrate a superior understanding of IFRS with the ability to provide the interpretation and detailed application of standards and impacts on current accounting policies
Must show progressive experience with financial and business transactions and have proven experience translating complex financial concepts into business practices
Understands that customer perspective is the key definer of value, and that it is critical to focus on upfront planning to deliver on the value we have promised to our customers
Experience with analytical and critical thinking in order to secure relevant information/data
Must have advanced proficiency in Microsoft Suite of Office Products (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Strong understanding of data analysis and advanced modelling techniques
Experience in a rate regulated industry with detailed knowledge of the Alberta regulatory framework is preferred
Balance multiple priorities and have the ability to work under pressure and within rigid time frames
Strong business and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders in an effective and professional manner

Proven ability to work in a team environment dealing with people from various disciplines to achieve goals, and to identify and resolve problems

Reporting to the Team Lead of ENMAX Power Finance, the Financial Analyst works closely with the ENMAX Power Regulated Strategy business partners to record financial results in accordance with IFRS and ENMAX accounting policies and procedures, develop budgets and forecasts, and provide analysis of results against expectations. The application of revenue recognition criteria in a complex rate-regulated environment is an area of focus. This Analyst will be required to interact regularly with team members from many disciplines to gather, analyze, and interpret data from business results, regulatory applications, and related regulatory decisions.

Salary: Financial/Business Analyst, Level D (Current CUPE 2024 rates)
$112,719.52 - $119,781.84 - $126,824.33 - $133,866.82 - $140,909.31

Location: This role will be part of our hybrid (home and office) work force with office workspace located at ENMAX Place (141 - 50th Avenue SE, Calgary, AB). You will work from home on Mondays and Fridays and in the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
