Directly perform as a senior member of the customer’s staff, providing day-to-day programmatic monitoring, assessment, and oversight of activities related to SFS.
Apply engineering and project management acumen to develop, conduct, and document processes associated with managing the technical aspects of a program/project.
Provide guidance and mentorship to early career SFS team members of the NASA team.
Work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment, to react quickly to changing requirements and schedules, and to provide products of consistently high quality.
Willing to operate under the direction of Government personnel, the Aerospace Task lead, or other contractors placed in leadership positions within the team as needed.
A PhD in engineering, physics, or applied science is required .
Minimum of 20 years of industry work experience.
Effectively work with multiple projects simultaneously.
Expertise in spacecraft fire safety in space flight projects.
Prior experience supporting a NASA or other government Program Office
Capability to ma intain NASA contractor information with discretion .
Ability to navigate evolving customer requirements, demonstrating flexibility and the capacity to swiftly adjust responsibilities and duties in response to changing client needs.
Communicate effectively and be able to summarize and present analysis findings to both Aerospace and NASA leadership.
Willing to travel domestically approx. once a month or as required by the customer
This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
More than 20 years of industry work experience.
Over 10 years of experience with spacecraft fire safety.

The Civil Systems Group (CSG) is seeking a qualified individual with experience supporting program and activities of a diverse customer set at National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and/or other Government customers. Functions include providing project management subject matter expertise to NASA's Spacecraft Fire Safety (SFS) project. This position is in the Human Exploration and Space Flight (HESF) Division and requires excellent customer service skills in building relationships with internal and external clients and stakeholders. The incumbent must have the ability to work professionally with all levels of management, particularly senior customer officials.
Work Model
This is a part-time Casual position which has the option to be fully remote anywhere within the United States. Remote Local (50-150 miles) or Remote Distant (>150 miles) of an Aerospace facility. Nominally based in based in Cleveland, OH , this role will combine regular onsite work with remote flexibility as the business needs allow.
What You’ll Be Doing
This position serves as a specialist in the Aerospace NASA Project Management Support Team, supporting NASA Glenn Research Center (GRC). The incumbent is responsible for supporting multiple project support activities which may include advocacy, planning, estimating, development, and execution of approved programmatic content material, focusing on bridging technical needs of the customer. The incumbent must possess leadership experience in spacecraft fire safety and be able to provide NASA with the technical knowledge of spacecraft fire safety projects, and strategic interfaces. Experience in project management across technically diverse teams. Skilled in project strategy, planning, budgeting, development, advocacy, and execution of project content providing technical expertise.
