      The Fit&Well, Peer Support & First Aid Program Section focuses on the promotion of health and wellbeing in conjunction with supporting the safe, sustainable and early return to work of employees with illness or injury. The dedicated team does this through developing, delivering and supporting health, fitness and wellbeing initiatives and programs, and by providing high quality and timely support to ensure employees are supported to return to or remain at work following an illness or injury.

      Our ideal candidate

      Working as part of a highly productive multidisciplinary team you will take a proactive approach to your work, delivering sustained outcomes which include:

      • Deliver Fit&Well programs including GymWell, PrepWell, ConnectWell, Agewell, Stepwell, LiveWell and TravelWell
      • Assisting Australian Border Force (ABF) staff to prepare for and pass the Basic Fitness Assessment (BFA) and maintain required fitness levels
      • Assisting Australian Border Force staff in dedicated Use of Force roles to prepare for (including providing education) and pass the Functional Fitness Assessment (FFA), and maintain required fitness levels
      • Facilitating 'PrepWell' exercise classes, training plans and education around fitness testing requirements
      • Delivery of Departmental Gym inductions.

      Duties and responsibilities

      • Support the Departmental Gym membership's process
      • Delivery of GymWell group exercise classes for Departmental staff
      • Manage administration of group exercise classes, including liaising with Fit&Well Champions and providing reporting as required
      • Development, delivery and promotion of fitness and wellbeing initiatives
      • Actively promote the Fit&Well program (presentations, webinars, face to face)
      • Assist with the delivery of the annual flu vaccination program
      • Contribute to the development and implementation of Fit&Well governance and forward work plan
      • Building networks and relationships with relevant key stakeholders and business areas.

      Additional information

      The role occupant must possess a Certificate IV in Fitness and qualifications in First Aid/CPR.

      The occupant must also hold a Baseline Security Clearance and Organisational Suitability Assessment (or be willing to obtain these clearances).

      Desirable:

      • Experience in an APS environment
      • Experience in delivering workplace wellness programs

      Eligibility

      To be eligible for the position you must be an Australian Citizen.

      The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (AGSVA) security clearance and an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC).
