      Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking a Flight Inspector 4 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals located in Palmdale, CA.

      Essential Job Functions

      Inspects demonstrator and production aircraft systems, equipment and parts for operation and conformance to government and company standards and specifications. Inspects the installation and operation of electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel, oil, and emergency systems and other parts and equipment of aircraft. Performs preflight and postflight inspections in accordance with standard procedure on flight-proven aircraft. Approves non-flight-proven aircraft for flight. Inspects, adjustments, repairs, or modifications made on the aircraft. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.

      Experience and Required Skills

      • Must have a work history of overall quality inspection experience with demonstrated knowledge of high reliability workmanship standards with hardware/interfaces typical of the high-tech industry.

      • Knowledge of AS9100 (or equivalent) and other related standards.

      • Experience with creating Nonconformances within MES.

      • Hands-on knowledge of inspection methods and techniques

      • Experience using Hand Tooling such as Micrometers, Dial Calipers, and Height gage.

      • Must be able to read Drawings and have a working understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance.

      • Should have a demonstrated ability to work with minimal oversight and in a multi-discipline team environment, providing insight and solutions to complicated issues both technical and procedural.

      • Must possess written and oral communications, along with interpersonal skills that aid in achieving both primary and multi-departmental goals.

      • Efficient using Excel, Word, and Outlook.

      • Experience working with MES, and Teamcenter is a Plus

      • Proficient at planning /organization, and decision-making skills

      Basic Qualifications:

      • High School diploma or equivalent and 8 years related experience

      • U.S. Citizenship

      • Active Secret Security Clearance

      • Ability to obtain Program Access within acceptable time frame as directed by Management

      • Ability to travel 10%

      • Strong written and verbal communications

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Hands-on knowledge of inspection methods and techniques

      • Knowledge and experiences with inspection tools and equipment

      • Knowledge of TIPQA, Cost Point, and MES

      • Experience with nonconformances procedures

      Salary Range: $81,500.00 - $135,900.00

      The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

      Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
