      FOUNDRY SUPERVISOR

      THE ROLE
      Reporting to the Metso Ballina Foundry Manager, the Foundry Supervisor is responsible for delivering high safety and productivity performance. This role has both operational and administrative responsibilities so will also require interaction with the Sales Team, Production Support, and close and constant interaction with the direct reports to provide a first-class service to our clients.

      RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

      • Create, review and update procedures, work instructions, templates and forms.
      • Develop the methods required to ensure sound castings that meet the optimum yield.
      • Create and maintain a safe working environment for all employees.
      • Assist sales by providing technical support.
      • Identify training requirements for Foundry staff including apprentices.
      • Develop production schedules for each work centre.
      • Manage and schedule daily production plan by work centre for the Foundry.
      • Managing labour, productivity and workload.
      • Monitor, reject and rework to drive down the reject percentage down.
      • Develop and implement a plan for yield savings.
      • Supervise the Foundry team to provide quality products to meet customer projects/sales schedules.
      • Manage efficiency targets and put in place controls.
      • Support in the development, implementation and set up of preventative maintenance programs and create a culture feeding back issues to the responsible party for them to be promptly closed out.

      ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE.

      • Knowledge of Foundry manufacturing processes & practices.
      • Experience in supervising teams.
      • Minimum of 10 years’ experience with Foundry Operations.
      • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a leadership / supervisory role.
      • Certificate IV in Frontline Management will be a desirable Qualification, but not necessarily essential.
      • Quality Conscious

      ESSENTIAL SKILLS.

      • Sound written and spoken communication skills.
      • Time management skills.
      • IT skills, MS office suite.

      • Efficiency of parts of the plant
      • Raw material usage for output, e.g. new sand,
      • Rapid/jobbing throughput
