Job Purpose:
Our Freight Optimization Program Manager will support the strategy execution for Veritiv’s third-party freight program and serve as a key driver in achieving seamless and cost-effective transportation operations crucial to the overall success of the organization's supply chain management.Job Responsibilities:
● Analyze carrier performance and manage freight audit/payment processes.
● Ensure carrier compliance via reporting and communication with field operators.
● Participate in LTL and Truckload sourcing events.
● Maintain relationships with key vendor representatives.
● Champion and lead the US Bank Carrier Payment process.
● Own and maintain LTL & Full TL Carrier scorecards.
● Execute third-party freight optimization strategy and suggest business cases for improvements.
● Analyze third-party freight cost reporting and suggest profitability enhancements.
● Drive change in high-opportunity locations, tracking savings.
● Support TMS-based execution of third-party freight, resolving invoice discrepancies and highlighting savings opportunities for field operators.Additional Responsibilities & Qualifications:
● BA/BS in Logistics, Business, or related discipline preferred. Master’s degree is a plus.
● 3-5 years of operations experience in a distribution/manufacturing environment, or, similar experience with extensive experience in supporting transportation teams and processes including third-party freight carriers.
● Experience working in the LTL and TL carrier or brokerage industries is a plus.
● Experience with freight Transportation Management Systems such as Mercury Gate International is a plus.
● Experience with US Bank Freight Audit & Payment Invoice Manager is a plusWork Experience:
● 3-5 years of related job experience.● Ability to manage multiple projects, work under pressure, and adapt to sudden changes in the work environment.● Ability to work quickly and efficiently.● Excellent verbal, written, people, and diplomacy skills are required.● Must possess a thorough understanding of the distribution business.● Strong customer service skills (friendly, courteous and helpful).● Strong planning and organization skills are required.Education:
