FUNCTIONAL MATHS TUTOR - MATERNITY COVER

Location: Army Foundation College, Harrogate

The Army Foundation College sits on the outskirts of the Victorian Spa town of Harrogate. A purpose-built site for Phase 1 recruits (Junior Soldiers) joining the Army.

Surrounded by 360 degrees of beautiful countryside, Pearson TQ staff benefit from the fantastic on-site facilities a 25 metre pool, full fitted CV and weights suite and squash and badminton courts. To relax there is the Learning Resource Centre and if you fancy a bite to eat, there are also two on-site cafes.

Salary: £30,928.00pa starting salary

Contract: Fixed term time only. (Please note AFC terms do not always match with LEA term dates)

Hours of Work: Full-time

Start Date: Maternity leave cover

PURPOSE: To teach Functional Skills L1 and L2 to 16 and 17 year old Junior Soldiers. You will teach and manage up to 8 classes. Provide cover where necessary for colleagues and invigilate examinations when required.

DESCRIPTION: TQ Education & Training is a provider of outsourced training services to the UK Ministry of Defence, other public sector organisations and private companies, both in the UK and overseas.

Qualifications

Essential

• Qualified teacher status
• L3 Qualification in the subject you will teach

Desirable

• Functional Skills Level 2 in English/Maths and/or ICT
• Experience of working with the Military (or other uniformed services)
• Delivering Functional Skills to soldiers
• Knowledge or an understanding of current educational developments
