- Manage and oversee the full grant lifecycle (Pre-award, Award, Post-award), ensuring timely completion of all tasks.
- Collaborate with the Grants team to ensure the grants management software (SmartSimple) meets all requirements for efficient grant administration.
- Develop and maintain due diligence procedures to assess grant applicants' eligibility and compliance.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for potential grantees, offering guidance throughout all phases of the project lifecycle, from the application process and requirements to grant closure.
- Coordinate with internal teams—including Finance, Compliance, and Programs—to facilitate the grant application, review process, and ensure compliance.
- Ensure seamless execution of grant agreements, award notifications, and communications with grantees.
- Handle and resolve anomalies or exceptions in the grant-making process.
- Oversee grant reporting, monitoring, and compliance to ensure grantees meet funding requirements.
- Track and ensure timely disbursement of grant payments, maintaining proper financial documentation. The FHE manager will also work with the Finance team to ensure timely payment and accurate accounting entries.
- Collaborate with the Research & Analysis (R&A) team to define and execute grant-related data analysis and reporting for programmatic and communication purposes.
- Organize and track key deadlines, including reporting timelines and grant closure process
- Coordinate virtual site visits and committee meetings related to grant oversight.
- Develop, maintain, and enforce grants management procedures to ensure consistency and compliance across all phases.
- Collaborate with internal teams (Finance/Accounting, Research and Analytics, IT, Development, Communications) to streamline grant administration processes.
- Provide administrative support, including scheduling meetings, tracking deadlines, and maintaining accurate grant records.
- Collaborate with the Communications team on internal and external communications related to grant impact, updates, and reports.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the success of the Fund for Health Equity
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Successful track record with 3-5 years grant making experience managing a grants program.
- Proficiency in grants management software (SmartSimple experience highly desirable).
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in managing financial and grant-related data.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to track and manage multiple grants and deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently while ensuring compliance and efficiency in grant execution.
- Strong customer service orientation, professionalism, and discretion.
- Motivated team player with a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.

Summary Job Description:
The Fund for Health Equity Grants Manager will work with the health equity team to coordinate and administer Direct Relief’s Fund for Health Equity grant making efforts. This individual will focus on managing Fund for Health Equity grants through their lifecycle and ensure proper due diligence for grants awarded to Direct Relief’s health care partners for a variety of programmatic initiatives. This is a new position and will report to the Managing Director for the Fund for Health Equity and work closely with the Director of Grants.
