      Waste Connections of Canada, the leader in non-hazardous solid waste management in North America is looking for ROLL OFF - GARBAGE TRUCK DRIVERS to join our team in Brockville, ONT. We are looking for a SAFETY inclined, energetic, autonomous and proactive team player capable of making a difference in his/her team and community.

      Position Summary:

      Driver will be responsible for safe operation of the vehicle, maintaining truck and route cleanliness, and completing accurate vehicle condition reports.

      • Pay rate - $24.56
      • Hours: Monday - Friday (day shift)

      Main Duties:

      • Ensure safe operation of a truck, while driving, loading, and loading
      • Drive to customer location for pickup, and position truck safely to ensure a safe lift.
      • Hoist bin onto truck using hydraulic lift.
      • Ensure customer satisfaction through reliable service.
      • Resolve blocked access, if possible, (e.g., honk horn or call dispatcher/customer; take picture of vehicle blocking access, return for later pick-up).
      • Dump contents at designated recycling facility or landfill.
      • Review run sheet listing calls and identify any potential issues.
      • At beginning of shift, complete a thorough pre-trip inspection.
      • At end of shift, fuel truck and complete a thorough post-trip inspection.

      Requirements

      • Commercial drivers’ license is required and must be maintained.
      • Minimum 3 years commercial driving experience
      • Roll-Off and/or Front-End Loader experience preferred
      • Class 3 or higher Commercial Drivers License with an air-brake endorsement.
      • Excellent spatial skills to position vehicle and bins effectively and drive accident free.
      • Effective communication skills to convey information to dispatcher and customers.
      • Knowledge of the area and traffic patterns in order to schedule a run or take a detour is a strong asset.
      • Physically mobile: able to climb in and out of truck to unlock/lock bins (or roll recycling containers) and to clean out truck after dumping contents.
