- Conducts special studies for NASA Programs/Projects and its partners.
- Engages in professional scientific and engineering work requiring knowledge of the science or art, or both, by which materials, natural resources, and powers are made useful.
- Performs multiple functions alongside other engineers to include planning, design, test and evaluation, cost analyses, program management, project and quality management.
- Performs technical activities supporting the management process whether within the context of a line organization, direction of a contracted effort, or management of grants. Work may involve monitoring contractors supporting NASA projects.
- Serves as an authority in areas of technical managerial functions involving two or more areas of management functions such as resources analysis, technical management systems, technical engineering operations management, configuration management.
- Technical authority advising, administering, or performing professional scientific/technical work concerned with engineering or architectural projects, facilities, structures, systems, processes, equipment, devices, material or methods.

- Performing technical management functions that require working with multi-disciplined or cross-functional teams involved in scientific or engineering development programs/projects;
- Performing strategic planning and technical management functions supporting investigative and technology development efforts for the advancement of new aerospace, aeronautical, or related equipment and systems;
- Coordinating and leading cross-functional teams of experts to develop solutions for problems that impact multiple operations areas (e.g., addressing critical timelines, technical risk, resource allocation, compatibility of systems and subsystems, and project performance).
You will serve as a Technical Management Engineer advising on, coordinating, monitoring, maintaining surveillance over, and/or performing a variety of technical managerial functions of aerospace and aeronautical research, development, design, test, and operations efforts. Work may vary depending on the role and mission responsibilities of the Center to which selected.Duties
