- You will provide strategic and tactical missile and Strategic Weapons Systems (SWS)/Attack Weapon System (AWS) engineering support for SWFLANT production areas, the Fleet, and other designated activities.
- You will serve as an engineer responsible for performing a variety of unique assignments in support of the planning, implementation, and execution of missile system component processing.
- You will exercise continuing oversight over contractor plans governing a complex of facilities, equipment, machinery, and operations to be installed for accomplishment of SWS mechanical and electronic system/component processing.
- You will conduct extensive studies/analyses (feasibility, trade-off, etc.) to determine the most timely and cost effective plans of effecting the required processing while still assuring resulting system/component quality.
- You will administer continuous surveillance over contractor implementation of approved SWS electronic and mechanical system/component processing approaches.
- You will monitor contractor installation activities to assure technical compliance with approved plans specifying the complexity of the system/component processing facilities, equipment, machinery, and operations to be employed.
- You will prepare various reports for higher-level SWFLANT management officials and SSP personnel concerning SWS electronic and mechanical system/component processing progress, problems, etc.
- You will conduct continuous assessment of SWS electronic and mechanical system component technology to identify and incorporate the latest requirements into processing operations.
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-02 (GS-11 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: As a professional engineer performing engineering work managing planning, installation and/or implementation and sustainment of mechanical or electronic systems and component processing.
