      Job Title: General Labor

      Job Description

      Candidates will be responsible for everything leading to the finish product. Candidates must be flexible, trainable, and adaptable. Every single day is different in this role. The job involves building steel wire cages for concrete frames, mixing concrete in prep stations, pouring concrete into wet or dry cast equipment, reading blueprints to plan where to punch holes in concrete boxes, and performing general cleaning.

      Responsibilities

      • Build steel wire cages for concrete frames
      • Mix concrete in prep stations
      • Pour concrete into wet or dry cast equipment
      • Read blueprints to plan where to punch holes in concrete boxes
      • Perform general cleaning
      • Engage in 'grunt work' as a new hire while learning the more complex processes
      • Attend production meetings starting at 6am
      • Take down frames used for the previous night's pours
      • Cut and stage finished rebar into frames for the day's pour
      • Prepare for the pour towards the end of the day
      • Finish off the pours and clean up the facility before letting the pours set for the night

      Required Skills

      • Ability to lift 50+ pounds
      • Ability to stand on feet for 10 hours a day
      • Ability to problem-solve
      • Ability to follow strict safety procedures
      • Ability to work in an indoor/outdoor environment
      • Ability to work mandatory overtime as needed

      Additional Skills & Qualifications

      • Experience in general labor, heavy lifting, concrete, construction, roofing, landscaping, production, power tools, framing, concrete finishing, hand and power tools, manufacturing environment, and manufacturing processes

      • 1st shift: 6am - 2:30pm (Monday - Friday)

      Work Environment

      This large facility includes both dry cast and wet cast buildings. Candidates will work in both buildings as needed. The environment is not climate controlled, meaning it will be hot in the summer and cold in the winter. The job is dirty, dusty, and involves heavy labor. The facility houses overhead cranes to lift and move massive concrete boxes of various shapes and sizes. Safety is a top priority. The dress code requires jeans and either a t-shirt or long sleeve shirt, with no loose articles of clothing. PPE is provided, including metatarsal boots, hard hat, hearing, and eye protection.

      This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, Indiana.

      Pay and Benefits

      The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
