      I am thrilled to inform you about the fantastic opportunity for a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team as a Practice Nurse at Wombwell Medical Centre. While a full-time commitment is preferred, we are open to discussing flexible arrangements to accommodate the right candidate.

      Our practice is a bustling community of medical professionals, comprising 2 GP Partners, 3 Salaried GPs, 2 Advanced Clinical Practitioners, 1 Clinical Practitioner, 3 Practice Nurses, 2 Physician Associates, 2 Health and Wellbeing Coaches, 3 Care Coordinators, 3 HCAs, 2 Clinical Pharmacists, 1 Practice Manager, 4 Administrators, 1 Reception Manager, and 9 Receptionists, as well as members from our local community services.

      Main duties of the job

      We are looking for candidates with extensive experience in several key areas. These include:

      Management of long-term conditions

      Administering childhood and routine immunisations

      Providing comprehensive and holistic patient care

      Guiding on and administering vaccinations

      Performing cervical cytology screenings

      Managing wound care

      Offering contraception advice and reviews

      Providing travel advice and vaccinations

      Advocating for health promotion and education

      Job responsibilities

      The following are the core responsibilities of the practice nurse. Other tasks may be required on occasion, depending on factors such as workload and staffing levels.

      Clinical

      To assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care

      To be involved in immunisation, including campaigns as required by the public health needs of the Practice population

      To exercise knowledge and skills in chronic disease, wound assessment and management, ear care, contraception, and other clinical skills as appropriate to the role

      To participate in infection control

      To participate in the screening and health promotion activities of the Practice

      To develop skills in sexual health, including cervical cytology and sexual health screening

      To participate in chronic disease management within the Practice guidelines

      To make referrals to, and receive referrals from, other health care professionals

      To demonstrate a level of knowledge and clinical skills appropriate to the needs of the role

      To prescribe medications within competence and the scope of Practice

      Management

      To participate in the development of Practice philosophy, strategy, and policy

      To be involved in the management of change within the Practice and the implementation of systems to improve patient care

      To participate in and contribute to the clinical governance agenda of the Practice

      To assist the Practice in achieving the Quality and Outcome Framework (GMS contract), Practice Delivery Agreement (PDA), Investment and Impact Fund (IIF) and other local and directed enhanced services.
