- Applies laws and procedures relating to land ownership, boundaries and titles when undertaking surveying and geomatics works.
- Plans and provides advice for project developments in land, building, and other types of developments using a variety of methods.
- Utilizes cutting-edge technology such as GPS and laser technology to measure angles and distances, perform GIS data collection, research and error analysis, perform Technical ALTA Surveys, Boundary and Topographic Surveys, Parcel and Easement Descriptions, Construction Staking, and As-built surveys.
- Provides calculations to field crews, performs spatial data analysis, identifies error sources, etc.
- Mentors less experienced Designers, Technicians, and Surveyors and offers advice and knowledge
- Reviews work of others for quality purposes
- Bachelor's Degree from accredited program
- Minimum of two years of Geomatics, Surveying, or other relevant experience; 8 years of relevant experience may count in lieu of degree
- Successfully passed the Fundamentals of Surveying (FS) exam.
- Must be proficient with survey calculations, CAD, GIS, and other relevant data in order to make sound recommendations
- Ability to effectively interpret construction documents
- Valid driver's license and sufficient driving record
- Ability to work varying schedules
- Ability to travel at times including overnight

What We're Looking For:
Join our team at Barge Design Solutions as a Geomaticist/Land Surveyor, where you’ll independently manage a diverse portfolio of geomatics and surveying projects across a wide variety of project types. In this role, you’ll serve as a trusted technical resource, providing expert solutions and support to Project Managers, Engineers, Architects, Landscape Architects, and other professionals. Work environment includes working outdoors and in rough terrain. Individuals will walk, sit, stand while operating various equipment, tools and machinery. Individuals may need to carry, push, pull, or lift up to 50 lbs. Individuals may need to climb to various elevations and requires visual acuity sufficient to read alpha/numeric symbols and perform computation and design.
