      Southwestern Energy is looking for a Geology and a Geophysics Intern for the Summer of 2024. We offer challenging, real-world assignments that will add value to our asset portfolio and cultivate professional development for you.

      As a Geoscience Intern at Southwestern Energy, you’ll be exposed to a broad range of practical applications and opportunities including:

      • Reservoir characterization and evaluation
      • Field development well planning, and the subsequent drilling and completion of wells in either the Marcellus, Utica, Haynesville, and/or Bossier Shales
      • Immersion into a multi-discipline environment featuring collaboration with Land, Reservoir, Production, Drilling, Completions, and Planning
      • Showcase of your work/projects in support of achieving team goals
      • A Louisiana field visit to an active drilling rig, completion job, and pad construction site
      • Gaining an overall understanding of not only a Geoscientist’s impact on the oil and gas industry, but also learn about different risks, associated costs, and the business aspects that dictate the decisions that we make each and every day

      To ensure a successful internship, each Geoscience Intern will be assigned a mentor who will oversee specific projects and serve as a technical resource.

      To be considered for this opportunity you are:

      • Currently enrolled (or accepted) M.S. students with an anticipated graduation date after December 2024
      • An exceptional student with a GPA of 3.0 or higher
      • Familiar with basic geologic/geophysical tools and workflows, with the ability to integrate multiple datasets to solve subsurface problems
      • Experienced in IHS Kingdom, but other geospatial software is acceptable
      • Proficient in basic Microsoft Suite functionality
      • An effective and efficient communicator
      • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer without sponsorship, now or in the future.
