What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Assist with the development and execution of eelgrass habitat suitability models
- Provide GIS and mapping assistance for the entire project
- Generate online visualizers to make information and data more accessible
- Locate and collect relevant spatial datasets for modeling and mapping
- Collaborate with USGS Eastern Science Center, Boston University, and the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Strong organizational skills
- Knowledge and experience in R and ArcGIS/ArcGIS Online
- Upper level undergraduate or graduate credit hours in GIS
- Experience in natural resources science and/or coastal resources science
- U.S. citizenship or U.S. legal permanent resident status
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience developing GIS applications such as StoryMaps and AGOL dashboards
- Experience working with remotely sensed data
- At least one class in remote sensing techniques
