- Produces quality engineering drawings using GIS data/mapping and CAD library to support various departments.
- Uses existing GIS system to pull, organize, create, and update data and maps related to Airport’s infrastructure.
- Manages the airport GIS database to support functions and goals of all airport departments.
- Communicates with GFIAA staff and stakeholders throughout the life cycle of a given project to ensure maximum productivity.
- Serves as subject matter expert for geospatial needs.
- Produces presentation quality graphics as requested by GFIAA staff and stakeholders.
- Maintains electronic library of digital engineering documents.
- Manages GFIAA GIS User Group and updates existing GIS Plan, as needed, and ensures conformance to standards with consultants and contractors.
- Manages and keeps current the Airport’s MissDig maps and coordinates utility locates and ticket closeouts.
- Reviews and updates databases, drawings, and diagrams to ensure accuracy and inclusion of additions and modifications to airport infrastructure.
- A degree or certificate in GIS, Geography, Urban Planning, Computer Science, Engineering or Cartography, or other relevant field combined with six (6) months GIS experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Thorough working knowledge of GIS and database management software.
- Basic knowledge of CAD software applications.
- Basic knowledge of the principles and practices of surveying and mapping.
- Knowledge of global positioning equipment used to collect field data complimented with understanding of surveying practices is preferred.
- Knowledge of simple trigonometry, especially as applied to the making of routine survey computations.
- Candidate must be able to pass required FBI fingerprint-based criminal history record check in addition to pre-hire and random drug and alcohol screenings.
- Candidate must maintain an appropriate level badge at all times.
- Incumbents may be required to possess or obtain site specific certifications or licenses.
- Maintain current GIS certifications, if any.
- Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations, including, but not limited to, visual and/or audiological appliances, and devices to increase mobility.
- Work is generally performed in a normal office environment.
- Assignments may involve incidental exposure to inclement weather, extremes of temperature, and possible contaminants.
- Partial remote work is an option under certain circumstances.

JOB SUMMARY:
The GIS Specialist will support GFIAA staff by using Geographic Information System (GIS) systems and Computer Aided Design (CAD), aiding in the production of schematics, exhibits, plans, maps, and diagrams of the Airport’s utilities and infrastructure.
