The Diageo Primary Scotch & Gordon’s Team based in Amsterdam is charting a new direction to craft the way people celebrate and socialize with our outstanding portfolio of brands. This role will lead the next wave of ground-breaking growth for Scotch Portfolio brands: Buchanan’s, Old Parr, Black & White & The Primaries and, J&B.

      In this role you will be the global brand guardian, set the 3-year financial ambition and strategy, build and codify growth drivers and programs and intervene on performance ambition that impact delivery of the ambition.

      You will ensure teams deliver their role within the Scotch ambition and support category strategy updates as needed. Lead and set the pace for on time delivery of commitments. Identify cross ambitions to step change brand building and financial delivery. Partner with cross functional teams to ensure delivery of One Diageo projects and programs. Identify capability opportunities, optimizations that support teams to unlock performance.

      Key Responsibilities

      • Lead the vision for the portfolio of brands to deliver the Scotch Ambition. Encourage and guide the four Marketing Manager direct reports and three Senior Brand Managers to craft and lead their brand vision, positioning, and growth drivers. Create an atmosphere that encourages drive, development and fresh thinking.
      • Lead and collaborate with key markets to deliver excellent execution of growth drivers with a high level of precision and creativity.
      • Collaborate with Scotch Marketing partner brand leads to deliver execution of portfolio brand strategy in a way that drives category growth.
      • Craft an innovation strategy that builds the premium plus brands through new occasions and consumers with margin accretive additions to the portfolio.
      • Influence a range of collaborators at different levels.

      About You

      Due to the complex nature of the role which leads a portfolio of brands, the role requires similar portfolio leadership experience at a regional or global level. Second rotation L3 required. Experience working in a range of markets/regions preferred.

      Given the diverse range of markets with different degrees of complexities and development stages, the skills for this role require a combination of marketing and commercial competence and global and local market expertise, to be able to operate and influence at all levels and functions of the organization.

      To successfully perform in this position, the role has the following requirements:

      Well-Rounded Brand Builder. Experience developing brand strategy and positioning that inspires participation and unlocks growth. Fluent in developing brand platforms that include a full suite of consumer & commercial drivers. Equal amounts of passion for Mental Availability and Physical Availability growth driver development. Significant experience getting results in both a global/regional capacity as well as at the local market level. This role requires the ability to deliver globally while also appreciating local market dynamics and commercial realities.

      Creative & performance driven. Ability to deliver equal measures of creative flair and effectiveness.

      Collaborative & open minded with strong relationship building skills. Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and work collaboratively with GMs, Marketing Directors, Innovation teams, Global Brand teams, Supply, Finance to deliver transformational growth for the brand and Diageo’s total business.
