In this position you will be part of our global ELD management team. You will be responsible for the global Scheugenpflug strategy regarding product innovation and thus contribute to our sustainable growth strategy within the ELD Business Line. You will also be responsible for managing the global R&D team. Furthermore, the exchange and cooperation with the Vice President R&D IAS as well as the participation in global councils IAS is part of your role. The key to this, in addition to technical competence, is above all your implementation strength, cross-global cooperation and leadership qualities.

Your role in our team:
• Develop and implement an R&D strategy for the ELD business to support the product road map
• Follow product development processes and define proper deliverables at each milestone
• Responsible for the development projects according to QCD targets (new products and further developments)
• Evaluate and validate technical solutions considering project targets and customer needs at each milestone.
• Responsible for the further development of the global organizational structure R&D
• Management, motivation, coaching and development of competences of the global R&D team
• Development of “external” R&D resources, projects and partners to leverage internal resources, including collabo-ration with other Atlas Copco group companies as well as Universities and research and funding providers
• Handle legal issues, in consultation with legal department, related to technology and or patent infringement claims from external parties or vice versa.
• Developing concepts to increase innovation capability
• Management of continuous improvement processes in R&D
• Budget responsibility for the development department with regard to resources and development projects

Your profile:
• Degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or comparable qualification as well as minimum of 5 years of experience in new product development in a technical environment
• Distinct methodological competence in technical project management
• Several years of management experience in a comparable position preferably in a matrix organization
• Strong intercultural competence as well as experience interacting in a global as well as diverse team
• Technical background in technologies: Metering, Sealing and Automation
• Business fluent English skills, both spoken and written; good knowledge of German is an advantage
• Working knowledge of PLM, SAP (or similar) and Office365 applications
