What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Conduct research to advance the state of the art in artificial intelligence and machine learning
- Implement algorithms and assess their performance using healthcare data

What is Required (Qualifications):
- Currently enrolled in a PhD program focused on computer science, data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, statistics, biomedical informatics, or a related field
- Experience in implementing and training machine learning algorithms or conducting statistical analysis
- Deep understanding of the mathematical foundations of machine learning
- Familiarity with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow
- Programming skills in Python, R, Java, C++, Matlab, or another modern programming language

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Within 1-2 years of PhD degree completion
- First author publications in top conferences or medical journals related to machine learning
- Experience in an interdisciplinary environment, particularly between engineering and medicine
- Knowledge of software tool development, including source control and documentation
- Experience working with genomic data, wearables, or medical records data
