- Ensure that risks for Gas Assets (Pressure Regulation, Transmission, LNG) are being identified and addressed.
- Deliver informed and constructive technical asset plans for maintenance and capital investment to improve business performance in the next 5 years.
- Transfer Gas Asset infrastructure requirements into clearly defined business cases, budgets, and an assessment of the impact on rate case development and risks to facilitate the planning process.
- Participate field work and investigation to evaluate asset conditions and work closely with different stakeholders.
- Plan, manage, and work with project engineers and additional stakeholders to maintain a reliable network and ensure potential hazards are managed safely and effectively.

Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution

Graduated between May 2023 and June 2024

Ability to begin the National Grid Graduate Program on May 28, 2024 or July 8, 2024

Valid US driver’s license

- Previous energy/utility experience
- Previous experience with AutoCAD, Maximo, and/or Mapping

National Grid’s Graduate Development Program (GDP) is an in-depth training and development program for high achieving recent college graduates who aspire to take on future leadership roles in a dynamic, ever-changing industry. Graduates will shape the future of National Grid. Bringing fresh thinking, new perspectives, and exploring with energy, we’ll give you real responsibility and an opportunity to move with purpose from day one – putting the power to supercharge your career in your hands.
Graduates start their careers at National Grid with an in-depth 4-week in-person Orientation which gives you exposure to all parts of the company, allows you to network with your Graduate cohort, GDP alumni, and senior leaders, and provides you with the opportunity to travel throughout our service territory in the northeast US. Following Orientation, Graduates begin working in their hired position and take part ongoing development activities through your first year including quarterly development sessions, active mentorship, and a Capstone Project at the completion of your first year with National Grid.
About the Position
As an Associate Engineer, you will help to develop and implement strategic plans for managing the pressure regulating facilities, pipeline heaters, and system automation equipment throughout Massachusetts service territory. You will be a part of a team that sponsors and executes a risk-based capital program to replace or rebuild stations, heaters, and telemetry equipment. Additionally, providing engineering excellence in planning, scoping, and selecting technology-based solutions to extend the life and enhance the reliability of these critical assets.
You will help be a part of the transformation of our infrastructure and transitioning to clean energy solutions!
This is a hybrid role with 1-3 days of work in the office or at a site.

Salary
Waltham, MA $84,000 - $99,000 a year
This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills. Candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.
