Compudopt's mission is to provide technology education and access to under-resourced youth and their communities. We are seeking a dynamic Grant Writing Specialist to assist with our institutional giving initiatives. The Grant Writing Specialist will play a vital role in writing grant proposals, securing funding, researching, managing grants, as well as establishing and maintaining relationships with philanthropic partners, site and operations teams. The Grant Writing Specialist will report to the Director of Institutional Giving and collaborate closely with various teams within the organization to ensure the successful execution and reporting of grants.

Major Job Responsibilities and Duties: - With guidance from Director of Institutional Giving, research, write and submit corporate, government, and foundation grant proposals.
- Research potential funding opportunities from foundations, government agencies, and other grant-making organizations that align with Compudopt's mission and vision.
- Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate tracking of grant expenditures and compliance with financial reporting requirements.
- Work closely with program and operational teams to develop project plans, budgets, and timelines for funded projects.
- Prepare and submit timely and accurate grant reports, including narrative progress reports and financial statements to funders.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with foundation partners and other funding sources.
- Arrange and facilitate site visits, meetings, and other engagements with funders as needed.
- Stay informed about trends, best practices, and developments in grant writing, fundraising, and philanthropy.
- Maintain a comprehensive and accurate database of grant opportunities, submissions, and outcomes.
- Work independently ensuring compliance with grant agreements and deadlines.
- Ensure appropriate, timely, and accurate acknowledgment of all corporate, foundation, and government gifts.
- Ensure all grant applications, attachments, reporting, awards, and acknowledgments are uploaded into the database.
- Provide support on the creation and implementation of the national development strategy.
- Assist the Director of Individual Giving with managing the giving portfolio for corporations, foundations, and other grantor entities.
- Assist the Director of Institutional Giving with identifying major giving prospects and cultivations strategies for supporters across giving sectors.
- Assist the Director of Institutional Giving with analyzing internal grant reports and develop understanding of the criteria and priorities applicable to each grant/funder program, and pursue promising funding leads accordingly.
- Utilize donor prospecting tools to conduct research on corporations and foundations for prospect activity and maintain integrity of the data.
- Generate and provide reports to the Director of Institutional giving and Chief Development Officer
- Maintain data integrity.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Required: - HS Diploma or GED
- Minimum 3 years of fundraising experience including the donor relations process, grant writing and/or event management.
Preferred: - Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., nonprofit management, public administration, communications)
- Five or more years of successful grant writing experience including proposal, report, and budget development.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and experience with grant management software or databases.
Special Knowledge/Skills: - Self-starter with ability to get up to work effectively with little direction or supervision.
- Proven track record of success in grant writing, grant management, and fundraising, preferably in the nonprofit sector.
- Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives and articulate complex ideas clearly and concisely.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines, projects, and priorities simultaneously.
- Keen attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in financial and narrative reporting.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with foundation partners and other stakeholders.

Salary is one component of Compudopt's total compensation package, which also includes: - Health, vision and dental care, employee paid life insurance, short-term disability, and AD&D
- Compudopt contributes up to $7015 per year towards health insurance plan costs.
- Compudopt contributes up to 4% of the match to each employee's retirement plan.
- Paid Time Off (PTO), 10 paid company holidays, and other leave allowances.
This position is subject to successfully passing a background check. Pay Range: $55,000 - $67,500 per year
