Medicine | Grants OfficeThe Grants and Contracts Analyst will participate and assist in the management of selected pre- and post-award activities for assigned principal investigators (PIs) as part of the College of Medicine Grants Management Office. Works closely with senior level team members in following established procedures; identifies and reports noncompliance with sponsor guidelines, such as effort requirements, allowable expenditures. Updates PI current and pending other support documentation within the timeframe identified using various university systems; assists with the completion of annual progress reports; may participate in pre- and post- grant award activities with training on pre- or post- specialization; pre-award activities may include assisting with the creation of proposals and coordinating with other internal staff, locating relevant materials, formatting and editing documents, drafting budgets, and adhering to internal and sponsor time limits; post-award activities may include compiling statistical, financial, or accounting data, reviewing expenses for compliance using approved budget, initiating cost transfers as necessary: reviewing and preparing projects for close-out. Attends training as necessary; performs additional duties as needed.
Minimum Education Required
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent experience
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent experience. 2 years of relevant grant or contract management experience. Requires successful completion of a background check. Selected candidate may be asked to complete a pre-employment physical, including a drug screen.
In addition:Intermediate skills with Microsoft Word and Excel, including the ability to create formulas and recognize errors in formulas. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Strong time management and ability to prioritize tasks under deadline pressure. Solid communication skills and ability to clearly explain status, concerns, and possible solutions to customers.
