Summary:
We are seeking a Grants Manager who will help hundreds of animal rescues and shelters across the country do more for animals. This person will be an integral part of a highly collaborative team at one of the nation’s largest animal welfare grant makers. Since 2001, the ASPCA has given more than $200 million in grants to more than 3,500 animal shelters, municipal and governmental agencies, rescue groups, universities, and other mission-aligned organizations nationwide to further the ASPCA’s programmatic goals. These goals include ending the euthanasia of dogs, cats, and equines, except when it is the more humane and responsible option, and ending systems and practices that perpetuate animal cruelty.
Our grants aim at these goals in ways that include building local and regional capacity across the country; supporting direct response to disasters, cruelty, and other emergencies; researching new approaches to specific animal welfare issues; developing and testing pilot programs to improve impact; disseminating best practices; and increasing protections for animals and/or decreasing their suffering through legislation, policy initiatives, or shifts in practices or perceptions.
We are seeking a Grants Manager whose primary focus will be to support the ASPCA Subaru Grant Program. The goal of this program is to help save lives, celebrate the ASPCA’s and Subaru’s shared love for pets, and raise awareness of pets in need through community outreach and media exposure. Grant funds support collaboration between local animal welfare organizations and their Subaru retailer partners during Subaru Loves Pets Month every October.
The Grants Manager is a member of the organization’s Grants Team and manages and supports the grant lifecycle for each of their assigned grant requests. Their responsibilities include working daily within the grantmaking databases (Fluxx and Airtable), providing timely, high-quality support to all internal and external clients (grant applicants; grantees; ASPCA staff), and working with other members of the Grants Team to facilitate efficient grantmaking processes and support team operations and organizational initiatives.
