GREENKEEPER

Work on one of the most beautiful golf courses in the world! We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Greenkeeper to join our team at Hamilton Island Golf Club.

Perfectly situated on Dent Island, nestled in the middle of a National Park you will get to experience a unique and exquisite working environment. The 360 degree views of the out-laying islands and the sparking blue water of the Whitsunday passage make this truly one of the most beautiful offices in the world. The stunning Hamilton Island Golf Course is ranked in the top 20 public access courses in Australia. Designed by the legendary Peter Thomson and Ross Perrett, players from all over the world have a round on this spectacular course on their bucket list. Perfectly situated on Dent Island, nestled in the middle of a National Park you will get to experience a unique and exquisite working environment. The 360 degree views of the out-laying islands and the sparking blue water of the Whitsunday passage make this truly one of the most beautiful offices in the world.

In this role, you will assist our Golf Course Superintendent with preparing and maintaining the golf course greens and garden areas. Your role will undertake turf and garden maintenance and landscape construction duties.

Your Role

You will live on beautiful Hamilton Island and commute 7 minutes by ferry to the Golf Course. You will assist our Golf Course Superintendent and team with daily preparation of the golf course.

Your days will be spent:

• Maintaining all course fairways, tees, greens and rough areas
• Appling fertilizers as directed by the supervisor, including maintaining a log of application
• Assisting with course irrigation
• Maintaining oil, fuel and fluid levels for all types of grounds-keeping machinery
  

About You

You are a team player with a can-do attitude, positive and friendly, you love the outdoors and are passionate about your job

You will also have:

• Tertiary qualifications in Turf Management or Greenkeeping (essential)
• Driver Licence (essential)
• Chemical Handling certificate (highly regarded)
• Sound knowledge of machinery and equipment related to this industry
• Previous experience in a similar role
