OPEN - District:
Joshua ISD Mow and detail all district grounds, including athletic fields.
Plant and care for trees, shrubs, and flowers by watering, pruning, fertilizing, mulching, caring for beds, and controlling weeds and vegetation.
Water grounds and apply fertilizer.
Collect and dispose of leaves, dirt, rubbish, and refuse from district facilities.
Assist with the inspection, repair, and installation of sprinkler system.
Assist with playground maintenance.
Other duties as assigned.
Verify accuracy of shipments by counting, weighing, or measuring items and comparing size, weight, description, and code numbers with information on invoice packaging slip and purchase orders; record and discrepancies or damage.
Open crates and other containers using hand tools to unpack items received. Inspect shipment for damage and defects.
Move inventory to various locations manually and by operating mechanical equipment, including forklift, pallet jack, and handcart.
Sort and store items according to established procedures.
Read and fill requisitions for stock items. Verify accuracy of orders pulled.
Drive truck to various locations to deliver materials. Obtain authorized signature for supplies requested.
Load and unload delivery truck by hand and or by use of hand truck.
Operate tools and equipment according to prescribed safety procedures.
Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting, climbing, etc.
Correct unsafe conditions in work are and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor immediately.
Help keep vehicle, equipment, and tools in safe operating conditions.
Inspect and adjust tools and equipment for safety and efficiency and perform preventive maintenance as needed.
Transport workers and equipment to work sites throughout the district.
Detect needed repairs on vehicles and equipment by following established inspection procedures.

Job Title: Groundskeeper Wage/Hour Status: Nonexempt
Reports to: Grounds Supervisor Pay Grade: AUX PG 2
Dept./School: Maintenance Minimum Salary: $14.34/hr.

Primary Purpose:
Maintain safe and attractive grounds and landscaping for the district. Assist in receiving, storing, issuing, and delivery of equipment, tools, and supplies.
Qualifications:Education/Certification
High School diploma or GED
Valid Texas driver’s license
Special Knowledge/Skills
Ability to read and understand written instructions
Ability to communicate (verbally)
Ability to operate tractor and landscaping equipment
Ability to operate riding or power mower, power tools, and hand tools
Ability to read supply requisitions and perform basic arithmetic
Ability to operate light truck
Ability to operate mechanical equipment

Continual walking, standing, climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching; heavy lifting and carrying. Work outside and inside; work around machinery with moving parts; work around moving objects or vehicles; work on ladders. Exposure to extreme temperatures, chemicals (herbicides and fertilizer), loud noises, and slippery or uneven walking surfaces.
