- Post-Graduate level of education or equivalent experience and expertise of providing workforce and finance data analysis in a work environment
- Highly developed experience of producing, analysing and interpreting information in a work environment, including manipulating data sets, analysing data, presenting findings in appropriate formats and making recommendations
- Extensive experience of working with complex, conflicting and contentious information
- Extensive experience of using, creating and developing databases in SQL Server or MS Access in a work environment (including creating complex queries using structured query language to interrogate the data, creating procedures and reports)

Job summary
An exciting opportunity to join the Scheduling Dept. and lead on the effective running of the resourcing systems used by LAS, currently GRS (Global Rostering System). You'll be the first point of contact for all queries and developments related to this system. You also have the responsibility of maintaining user access rights.
Main duties of the job
- Responsible for the effective running of GRS across the Trust - including first point of contact for all queries and developments- Assisting with user access, troubleshooting and solving any problems with the systems- Responsible for payment queries, in particular related to incentives and Bulletins

Job responsibilities
The post holder is the lead specialist responsible for ensuring that the Trust has access to high quality workforce data and information to support workforce and vehicle utilisation and planning, monitoring and development of services. The post holder is also accountable for all overtime and disruption payments ensuring that claims meet the current criteria set out in the respective bulletin for that period. Responsible for the effective running of GRS across the Trust. This includes first point of contact for all queries and developments, and assisting with troubleshooting and solving any problems with the systems Serves both as a technical and resourcing expert. Recommends new developments, investigates and analyses feasibility of system requirements and develops system specification. Identifies methods, solutions and provides project leadership and management in order to provide a high level of service that will benefit the Trust Foremost liaison between the LAS and third party system suppliers. Responsible for projects managing the implementation of developments in GRS within the Trust, working in partnership with relevant departments and third party suppliers. Freedom to research, design and develop intricate data sets and has the autonomy to change procedures to ensure the Trust meets its requirements for staffing and budgetary reporting. Ensure that data quality of information held in the systems is of a high quality, up to date and adheres to the data protection Act 1998. Develop procedures to maintain the quality and auditing of the data Oversee the management of data cleansing and data validation exercises of information held in the systems and ensure that these are completed in a timely manner Oversee the management of data sent to the payroll department for overtime and rest breakpayments Oversee the management of data cleansing and data validation between GRS and ESR Continually adapt to new working practices, system changes and technology changes and take responsibility for keeping up to date with these changes. Develop / update systems, databases and spread sheets in response to these changes Provide training in the use of the resourcing systems, both within and outside the department, for new users and upon implementation of new modules or developments Represent the Trust at the National Resource Managers Forum whereby GRS users meet to discuss areas of common concern and share best practice. Maintain network relationships with other Services, contributing ideas and seeks advice when necessary. Responsible for the forecast accuracy of number of 999 calls. This requires understanding of internal and external factors affecting the Service in order to explain deviations in the forecast and take corrective measures in advance. Develop existing and new databases (using SQL Server or MS Access) and complex spread sheets (using Excel) to improve information gathering and analysis Develop databases and spread sheets which are user friendly and tailored to meet the needs of the customer Develop complex queries using Structured Query Language to interrogate the databases and adapt them on an on-going basis Influence data collection procedures outside the department which affect information provision, including the design of operational forms within the service Set up processes to extract and manipulate complex data from systems created outside the department. Assist in the specification and tendering process for new information systems both within and outside the department Provide advanced support and advice for other database developers Use creativity, imagination and innovative ideas to resolve resourcing issues and problems which prevent the service from providing the provision of high quality patient care
