As a Head of Engineering, you will be responsible for leading one or more cross-functional agile crews that build software products for global audiences.

This role offers flexibility, and we welcome applications from candidates who are open to working from our London or Livingston offices. There are multiple positions available.

What you'll do

• Provide leadership to bring together a multi-disciplined department to deliver the best outcomes for Sky’s customers
• Coach, mentor and support the engineering managers to foster career growth, help implement a new operating model and instil quality practices & standards
• Guide the team in solving complex technical problems, making technical design decisions, and ensuring adherence to best practices
• Drive and guide the team in continuous improvement in engineering practices and ways of working to improve efficiency and customer outcomes
• Develop and execute delivery roadmaps with the associated capacity and financial plans to ensure an appropriate level of staffing to meet the demands of the business

What you'll bring

• Proven experience in leading and developing multiple engineering teams
• Ability to provide technical leadership to cross-disciplinary engineering teams that own delivery of software from definition to production and customers
• Experience collaborating with senior and diverse stakeholder groups
• Hands on experience with building and shipping software at pace
• Experience leading teams through change initiatives with the ability to bring others along the journey
• Extensive knowledge and application of modern engineering practices (CI/CD, serverless / cloud architecture, Agile, Product teams, etc.)

Any of the following will be a bonus

• Working with embedded software coupled with cloud solutions
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, and a track-record of using data to make decisions
• The ability to operate at a range of levels – both in terms of big picture strategic thinking, thought leadership and getting into the data and analysis

Our Osterley Campus is a 10-minute walk from Syon Lane train station. Or you can hop on one of our free shuttle buses that run to and from Osterley, Gunnersbury, Ealing Broadway and South Ealing tube stations. There are also plenty of bike shelters and showers.

On campus, you’ll find 13 subsidised restaurants, cafes, and a Waitrose. You can keep in shape at our subsidised gym, catch the latest shows and movies at our cinema, get your car washed, and even get pampered at our beauty salon.

Livingston Watermark House

Our lively campus is a free shuttle bus away from Livingston South train station and the town centre. Plus there’s onsite parking available for cars, motorbikes and bicycles.
