      The Head of ERP & Finance Platforms is accountable for the effective and efficient operation and development of the ERP & Finance Technology Platforms. They will lead a team of engineers and third parties who collectively provide an operational service to agreed service levels and work on project and product teams to develop, maintain and enhance the core IT technologies and platforms.

      The role will be accountable for the financial management, service delivery and controls compliance, engineering and delivery quality and the technical roadmap for their area. The role will identify and drive forward change to improve the platform quality and efficiency.

      The role is part of the wider IT Engineering team and a key part of the role will be working with colleagues to deliver an overall engineering roadmap and approach aligned to our solution and enterprise technology roadmaps.

      Johnson Matthey IT (JMIT) is Johnson Matthey’s global IT function which is at the centre of the company's strategy to catalyse the net-zero transition. JMIT provides core operational IT services which power our business and are working in partnership with our business units to develop future technology and business services which will modernise and drive forward JM.

      Your responsibilities:

      • Develop and drive implementation of platform level strategy and roadmaps to ensure alignment to JM product requirements .
      • Lead the overall technology team for the defined set of platform technologies.
      • Accountable for providing an operational service to agreed service levels; create strong working relationships and processes with the IT Operations team to ensure there is an end-to-end service.
      • Line manage the platform team providing effective people management, coaching and development support.
      • Work with the other line managers and the Engineering Director to create a strong team culture, performance management approach and career development opportunities.
      • Work closely with Product and Delivery teams to drive engineering coding methodology/ plan for the platform .
      • Infuse a sense of ownership and pride amongst team members to deliver high-quality, self-managed work outputs .

      Requirements for the role:

      • Leading a technology platform and team delivering high quality operational and change services.
      • Leading and developing a team of engineers.
      • Managing significant budgets – both operational and change.
      • Matrix management structures and ways of working.
      • Working with Enterprise and Solution Architecture to develop and maintain a platform roadmap.
      • Building new engineering teams, ways of working, processes and culture.
