      We are seeking a Head of Product who is passionate about designing and building multiple hardware and software products. The candidate should also have a desire to build and grow a new business with a differentiated product offering. The ideal candidate will have a successful PM track record of growing a business unit or start-up in the digital consumer space. The Head of Product reports to Head of Kohler Ventures and manages 1-2 direct reports (Product Managers).

      In your role as Head of Product at Kohler Ventures you will:

      • Define the product vision and roadmap of all Kohler Ventures products with clarity on feasibility, time, cost, regulatory implications and impact across all products launched
      • Build and manage a team of product managers who will oversee both hardware and software products
      • Work closely with cross-functional teams to define requirements and design features to secure product market fit and growth
      • Effectively prioritize and define product features so that Engineering, Design, Clinical and others can collaboratively build and execute
      • “De-risk” and validate key areas of the product through frequent market feedback (via concept testing, analytics tools, A/B testing, surveys/interviews, etc.)
      • Act as the voice of the customer, with a deep understanding of user personas, pain points and customer journeys
      • Shape the overall product strategy via understanding of the competitive landscape, available and upcoming third-party integrations and industry practices
      • Serve as a custodian for the digital strategy across the organization, helping to drive new capabilities and ways of working

      Skills/Requirements

      • 7+ years of product management experience, ideally with knowledge of both hardware, software products and data products.
      • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited educational institution in a technical discipline (Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering) required; MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
      • Deep domain expertise in digital or electronic consumer products and smart home experience preferred.
      • Significant experience in a consumer startup or incubator environment, taking products from inception to launch and building an effective product and design team.
      • Experience with both strategic and experience design.
      • A demonstrated history of accountability and performance delivery, leading teams to meet or exceed objectives.
      • Strong analytical skills with an emphasis on data-driven decision making.
      • Experience collaborating with internal stakeholders.
      • Familiarity with common PM tools for sprint planning (JIRA, etc.), road maps, analytics and tracking, etc.
      • Ability to convert and translate product features into bottom-line ROI and convey message to major stakeholders.
      • Ability to succinctly articulate product vision and direction to media representatives and key opinion leaders.
      • Ability to communicate points of view regarding industry direction.
      • Travel approximately 25% of time including global travel.

      The approved base salary range for this position is $161-289K. The actual base salary offered to a candidate may be higher than the approved range. This will vary depending on a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. This position is subject to Area Salary Differential (Cost of Living Adjustment) that ranges from 24.5%-30% of base salary for Northern CA. The approved base salary range including ASD for this position is $200-375K depending on location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus and a special project incentive. Available benefits include medical, dental, vision and 401k.
