Job Description

- Master degree in Engineering , Business or Supply Chain
- Extensive Experience from Offshore service construction business (Structure Installation, Laying, Burial, Protection, Nearshore works, etc.)
- Have drafted, negotiated and managed large subcontracts (+ 100 M€)
- At least 10 years of experience in Procurement / Category Management / Supply Chain at Manager Level with proven records of commercial achievements
- Have managed large teams of purchasers in a project environment
- Strong Stakeholder Management ability and track-record
- Well versed in many contract types (EPCI) like FIDIC
- Good technical understanding of scopes linked to installation and protection of cable onshore, nearshore and offshore
- Good knowledge of the Offshore Windfarm market
- Strong commercial & Proactive mindset, and ability to develop a network and long lasting relationship with suppliers / subcontractors
- Team player / Team Builder
- High working capacity and resistant to some high pressure periods
- Ability to prioritize, multitask for your-self and on behalf (or as support) to your team
- SAP, BI & Ariba Knowledge is an advantage

WELCOMING YOU TO THE TEAM
The Project Purchasing team is a diverse and multicultural team with more than 25 team members situated in Norway, France, USA and UK. The team is responsible for managing and coordinating all purchasing related activities respecting Nexans purchasing procedures throughout the lifetime of the tenders and projects.
Our current backlog of our subcontracts for the next 7 years is approx.. 2 Bn € with a wide variety of scopes and regions. Project Purchasing deals with large subcontracts linked to the cable installation and protection like Civil Works, Landfall, Nearshore lay & burial, Route Preparation, Offshore cable protection, etc.. The workplace is in Oslo, Norway and you will be reporting to the Chief Purchasing Officer for G&T .
The Head of Project Purchasing is a key position in Nexans G&T with important internal stakeholders (Portfolio Directors). You will not only be leading a large team but also work closely with the Portfolio Directors to de-risk a large backlog of subcontracts that are key for the success of our projects.
GETTING A FLYING START
To get a flying start as Head of Project Purchasing you should have more than 10 years’ experience from Project related activities from Marine Operations from Oil & Gas or other offshore activities (experience with Civil Works is a strong plus), being very well versed in a variety of complex service contracts and have dealt with large organizations and stakeholders at Project Director level. You must have a good knowledge of the market, and an already developed network with Nexans’ main subcontractors. This is a project organization with high tempo and many projects running in parallel, you need stamina and dedication to drive and develop the team at the same time as delivering on time and quality for the Project Organization.
You are ambitious, have the ability to multi task, prioritize task, are an effective communicator and stakeholder manager.
HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT
You will be fully accountable for all project purchasing activities for all our project portfolio worldwide and deliver on a subcontracting backlog of 2 bn€ on time, quality, cost and HSE.
