- promote and maintain a welcoming approach to patients, relatives and visitors
- set up and close down clinic rooms
- support patients through their clinic journey
- act as patient advocate
- maintain patient's privacy and dignity
- alert the Registered Practitioner to any change or concern relating to the welfare of a patient

- Qualification in English and Maths
- NVQ in Health care or willing to undertake/achieve equivalent competence
- Previous care work on hospital, community, voluntary or work experience
- Previous experience of working as part of a team
- Previous experience of working with the public
- Previous experience in a caring role or hospital environment
- Previous administration experience and keyboard skills
- Understanding of health and safety at work
- Able to produce clear written records
- Knowledge of vulnerable adult and child protection issues
- Knowledge of women's health and women's outpatient procedures
- Good interpersonal skills with ability to use tact and diplomacy
- Aware of the need for confidentiality at all times
- A positive approach to customer care with the ability to establish and maintain good relationships and exercise patients and compassion
- Ability to effectively prioritise and co-ordinate own work
- Ability to work effectively in a busy environment

Job summary
Are you interested in a career in women's health?
Women's Health Outpatients Department (WHOP) is a small friendly unit, where women attend clinic for reviews as well as minor procedures. This post would suite someone with an interest in working in the caring profession but specialising in women's health. The Unit currently works Monday-Friday 0800-1800 and the successful applicant would be expected to work their hours across the month to support the service.
You must be highly organised, an excellent communicator and have a passion to deliver high standards of patient care.
