      DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION

      1. Design and implement long-term and short-term strategic goals for alterations and additions to healthcare facilities, including modifications to existing structures, facility improvement projects, and new construction. Direct, develop, and oversee architectural scope of capital projects complying with UM, CMS, state, federal, local, fire, and environmental regulations as well as insurance requirements.
      2. Direct and manage technical design resources and supervise interdisciplinary teams assigned to capital projects. Develop and oversee budgets, schedules, and construction standards.
      3. Responsible for the project management, implementation, and execution of healthcare facility projects acting as a liaison between MU Health Care and consultants on behalf of the UM System.
      4. Supervise professional staff responsible for preparation of construction documents, detailed scale drawings, material specifications, and elevations for renovation and alteration of MU Health Care facilities.
      5. Direct and manage technical evaluations of architectural as-builts. Responsible for the oversight and direction of professional staff as related to implementation and adherence to MU Health Care design and construction standards on all construction, renovation, or facility modifications.
      6. Manage the development, coordination, and maintenance of daily staffing schedules to ensure the appropriate level of coverage and continuity of care.
      7. Monitor and oversee time and attendance in alignment with MU Health Care policies and practices, ensuring accuracy of records and timely approval for payroll purposes.
      8. May complete unit/department specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documents.

      REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

      • Missouri licensure from the Board for Architects and Professional Engineers within six (6) months as a condition of continued employment in this job classification.

      • Five (5) years of experience as a project architect

      PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

      • Bachelor’s degree in architecture or a related area.

      • Healthcare and management experience.

      • Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
