What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Complete coding analysis of individual patient stays to ensure accurate coding
- Provide accurate diagnoses, procedures, and relevant database information for financial reimbursement
- Accumulate and analyze statistical data related to coding
- Perform related duties as assigned, including inpatient and outpatient coding tasks
- Collaborate with team members to address complex coding scenarios
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Graduate from an associate or bachelor's degree program in health information, or completion of a coding specialist program
- 3-5 years of experience in ICD-10/CPT coding
- Licensure/Registration/Certification: CCA, CIC, COC, CCS, CPC, HCS, CEDC, RHIT, or RHIA
- Must be available and punctual for scheduled work shifts
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- 5+ years of experience in ICD-10/CPT coding
- Additional certifications such as CCA, CIC, COC, CCS, CPC, HCS, CEDC, RHIT, or RHIA
- Experience working in a nonprofit healthcare organization
- Knowledge of healthcare reimbursement processes and regulations
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
