      What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
      - Analyze medical records and extract relevant clinical data for inpatient and outpatient records
      - Code medical records according to established ICD 10 CM/PCS and CPT 4 guidelines
      - Serve as a resource for less experienced coders and respond to inquiries from external customers/departments
      - Review and analyze inpatient and outpatient medical record documentation for coding accuracy
      - Adhere to safety rules and departmental policies while performing duties

      What is Required (Qualifications):
      - Demonstrated proficiency in medical record analysis and ICD 10/CPT 4 coding methodology
      - Minimum of 5 years coding experience in an acute care hospital
      - Relevant certification such as CPC, CCS, RHIT, RHIA, or COC
      - Thorough understanding of coding guidelines and ability to use appropriate reference materials
      - Effective communication skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools

      How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
      - Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management or a related field
      - Proficiency in more than one area of coding
      - Experience using EPIC electronic health records
      - Familiarity with 3M computer-assisted encoder
